This picture was painted for the cover of a book called The Manipulators, by Winston Fletcher, which I liked a lot and it had plenty of scenes for me to choose from to paint. I decided that this episode in a nightclub would be the best one. The man sitting next to the girl in mauve is my best effort at a Clark Gable lookalike, one of the main characters in the story, and a large photo from a film book was propped in front of me as I drew him. I think I've got the eyebrows at least.
